History of the Department of Machine Technology and Production Engineering

The beginnings of teaching Machine Technology date back to 1951, when on September 15, 1951, the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the Evening School of Engineering was established, which from 1952 was subordinate to the Evening School of Engineering in Krakow and was later incorporated into Krakow University of Technology.

As a result of the development of the Faculty units and the construction of a number of facilities, on June 18, 1963, an independent Higher School of Engineering was established in Rzeszów, transformed into Rzeszów University of Technology in 1973.

On October 1, 1974, the Division of  Manufacturing Processes was separated. The name of the unit was changed in 1993 to the Division of Manufacturing Processes and Production Management, and then to the Department of Manufacturing Processes and Production Management. From July 1, 2012, the unit was named Department of Manufacturing Processes and Production Engineering.
